Renowned operatic tenor, Martin Toal, will be performing at the grand final of the Miss Universe Wales beauty pageant, to be held at City Hall, Cardiff on March 11.
Manchester-based Toal is in demand to sing at major sporting, corporate, celebrity and charity events, and has performed at the Millennium Stadium, as well as singing for the Queen.
He has also performed with some of Europe’s top artists including soprano, Lesley Garrett, and Ireland’s Chris de Burgh.
The former Modern Languages teacher speaks fluent French, as well as conversational Italian, German, and Spanish.
Miss Universe Wales organiser, Vivienne Sharman-Lewis, says that Toal has a phenomenal voice.
“His outstanding singing voice will add another dimension to the grand final of Miss Universe Wales, and we are very lucky to have him here, as, due to his immense popularity, he has an incredibly busy schedule.”
Martin Toal has made a number of TV appearances, and was featured in BBC2’s ‘A Band for Britain’, singing the UK national anthem under the baton of actress, Sue Perkins.
The Miss Universe Wales pageant has attracted a huge number of entrants, thanks to an array of fantastic prizes for the lucky winners, that include four days aboard a luxury yacht in Portugal, courtesy of Algarve Charter Sailing, three days in a private villa with golf, spa and pool at Castro Marim Golf and Country Club, plus a professional portfolio collated by well-known London-based fashion photographer, Lee Collie.
Miss Universe Wales has adopted eating disorder organisation, Beat Cymru, as its official charity, in order to highlight the fact that skinny does not mean beautiful.
