Fuzzbox, the princesses of power punk pop, are to headline the finale night of Shifnal’s first art festival.
The Midlands girl group, who have had five Top 50 hits such as Pink Sunshine and International Rescue, are headlining a day-long series of events on Saturday September 25th at Idsall School. It will be one of the band’s first concerts since reforming after a break of almost 20 years.

Festival chairman Tony Stringfellow said, “We’ve got such a varied mix going on during the ten days of the festival, from classical concerts and choirs to poetry and painting. We wanted to finish with an act that was fun and memorable, and Fuzzbox were the perfect choice.
I’ve known members of the band for years and I know they’ll have everyone bouncing around the room and leave everyone looking forward to the 2011 Festival.
In addition Vix – Fuzzbox’s main singer – has agreed to be one of the judges at the festival’s night of talent, when people in Shifnal will get on stage and show us those skills and acts that they’ve secretly been perfecting for years at home.”
Shifnal Festival runs from September 17th to 25th 2010. The programme of events includes street performances, a day of dance, the Shifnal’s Got Talent competition, poetry recitals, a rock night, craft fair, a choirs’ evening and a classical concert. There will also be arts and photographic exhibitions, creative workshops and films.
